Welder – Conveyor Division
Sylvan, Inc. is a market-leading, trusted automotive services contractor to Fortune 500 companies.
The Welder will be responsible for executing all tasks and technical aspects of assigned projects to assure the highest level of accuracy and quality while working with the Manufacturing Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for the welding of all components working from engineered drawings and verbal direction.
Job Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Measuring and laying out weld locations and size.
- Executing welds using the proper equipment and filler metal to specifications on drawings.
- Proper use of metal working machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, saws, brakes, and shears.
- Reviewing drawings prior to the beginning of welding.
- Perform quality checks on completed products.
- Conforms to Sylvan and OSHA safety procedures.
- Complete inspection reports.
- Weld components in a timely manner to maintain schedule.
Education Requirements
- Vocational training certificate or college degree
- AWS certification – 1G minimum
Experience
- 2-5 years’ experience as a structural steel welder.
- Proficiency in using shop equipment.
- Hi-lo License.
- Rigging and overhead crane use.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a professional, positive “can-do” attitude.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
